What is REPRINTS?

What is REPRINTS?

Tokyo Metropolitan Institute of Gerontology's Research Team for Social Participation and Health Promotion started a research project on senior volunteer activity of picture book telling to children in 2004 sponsored by Tokyo Metropolitan Government and Grants-in-Aid from Comprehensive Research on Aging and Health, Ministry of Health, Welfare, and Labor, Japan. The project,"REPRINTS"Research of productivity by intergenerational sympathy):studies how intergenerational exchange between the senior volunteers and children affect each other and what outcome it produces .
REPRINTS literally means printing old books again and it was named with our hope that the senior generation would regain their roles to rebuild the community once again.

Current Activities

The four regional RERPINTS and TMIG hold a monthly meeting.
The representatives from each regional REPRINTS report their current activities and issues in the meeting and TMIG and the REPRINTS network discuss the topics addressed in the meeting.
We also put out a REPRINTS newsletter quarterly to inform one another of the latest activities in each region. It is our aim to contribute to the society through the research of REPRINTS and supporting the senior volunteers.
